31 accredited OT and OTA programs offer a part-time, evening or weekend schedule. Of these, 14 meet on weekends, 6 hold evening classes and 15 have a part-time track. Each is listed below with the schedule its own website describes. Fieldwork is still full-time, so plan to pause work for those months.
OT programs (master’s and OTD) with flexible schedules
These programs lead to OT licensure. Several weekend master’s programs are hybrid, with online coursework and on-campus weekends.

What to know before you apply
- Fieldwork is full-time. ACOTE requires Level II fieldwork of at least 24 weeks for OT students and 16 weeks for OTA students, on the fieldwork site’s schedule.
- Part-time adds about a year. Where schools publish both lengths, the part-time route takes about a year longer: Springfield College lists 2.5 years full-time or 3.5 part-time, and Touro University 3 years full-time or a limited 4-year part-time option.
- Check which years are part-time. Some programs allow part-time study only for part of the curriculum. Chicago State, for example, says only the first year can be done part-time.
