Most OT programs have dropped the GRE. 102 of the 108 programs whose policy we verified say it is not required (or optional), and only 6 say it is required. Policies change each cycle, so check the program page before applying.

Should I take the GRE anyway?

Only if a program you are applying to requires it or says it will consider strong scores. Otherwise your time is better spent on prerequisites, observation hours and your personal statement.
