OT School GPA Requirements: Lowest Minimum GPAs

Most OT programs set a 3.0 minimum: the median minimum among the 176 programs we verified is 3.0. 13 of them list a minimum below 3.0. A minimum is only the cutoff to be considered; admitted students usually have higher GPAs.

No program publishes an acceptance rate in a consistent way, so “easiest” is hard to measure honestly. Programs with lower GPA minimums, no GRE, fewer required observation hours, and newer programs that are still building their applicant pool tend to be more accessible. Use the tables on this page and our no-GRE and observation-hours lists.

Possibly. Some programs accept a 2.75–2.9 minimum or consider your last 60 credits or prerequisite GPA. Strengthen your application with strong prerequisite grades, observation experience and recommendation letters.

Many do, separately from your cumulative GPA. The table shows which GPA each minimum applies to (cumulative, prerequisite, last 60 hours, and so on).
