The Nevada state has only 1 ACOTE accredited Occupational therapy School, which provides an entry-level Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) and Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree. Plus, the state also has 1 ACOTE accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Schools which provides an associate degree. The license is required to practice as an OT or OTA in the state of Nevada and it’s compulsory for the graduates of OT schools to apply for the licensure.
The only Accredited Occupational therapy school in Nevada is the Touro University Nevada.

The occupational therapist, Occupational therapy assistant, and OT/OTA students have their own state association, i.e. NOTA (Nevada Occupational Therapy Association).
The NOTA is a non-profit volunteer organization which provides a professional community for its members. The NOTA is a state-based professional organization and public voice for the occupational therapy profession in Nevada.
The main role of the association is to promote the occupational therapy profession, create public awareness, provide support to the therapist in continuing education and improve and maintain the quality of occupational therapy profession in the state of Nevada. The NOTA is an affiliated state body of the American Occupational therapy association.

Occupational therapy License in Nevada-
Occupational therapist and Occupational therapy Assistants are required to get a license from the state of Nevada Board of Occupational Therapy. A standard license is valid for the 12 months only and then the therapist has to renew it.
The minimum requirements for the license are-
- Entry level MSOT or OTD degree
- NBCOT exam’s passing certificate.
- License fee – OTR – $400; COTA – $325.
Temporary OT/OTA License:
A temporary license to practice as an occupational therapist (OT) or as an occupational therapy assistant (OTA) in Nevada may be granted to persons who have completed the educational and experience requirements for licensure and are waiting to take or receive the results of the certification examination. A temporary license will expire six (6) months from the date on which it was issued and may be renewed for one additional 6-month period.

The OT school at Tauro University offers only accredited occupational therapy degree program in Nevada. The OT school offers two options in the OT program, first is MSOT and second are OTD. The Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) degree began in 2005 and the Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) degree began in 2017. The OT entry-level doctoral program has got candidacy status from the ACOTE.
