The Michigan state has 7 ACOTE accredited Occupational therapy Schools which provides an entry-level master degree or Doctor of Occupational therapy program. The Bachelor of Health Science (B.S.H.S) and Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) programs are combined as a 4+2 degree program; students complete four years of undergraduate study and two years of graduate study. The EMU Occupational Therapy Program has a rich history, since 1941. Numerous outstanding scholars and practitioners have graduated from this OT school and have provided service to the profession.
The OT school offers two entry-level options, one is Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program and another one is Combined Occupational Therapy (COT) track, which is often referred to as the 3+2 program. The COT track/ Fast track is designed for undergraduate students who do not yet have a bachelor’s degree. This track requires students to complete twenty-four months of full-time, year-round graduate coursework in occupational therapy followed by 24 weeks of Level II Fieldwork. This track culminates with a Bachelor of Science degree (BS) and a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) degree.

The Occupational therapy school at GVSU offers 58 Million Dollar State-of-the-Art facility including Patient Simulation Labs, Model Living Suite, Human Occupations Lab, and Biomechanics Lab.
The OT school offers two options for the entry-level master degree course. One is the traditional Program (two-year graduate program) and second is a hybrid program (three-year graduate program). The Occupational therapy programs are offered in two different campuses of the Western Michigan University. The campuses are – Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The 4 + 1 bachelor’s/master’s program is a fast track OT program. This program is offered at WMU’s main campus in Kalamazoo for undergraduate and transfer students. This “4+1” program offers students an accelerated path to a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Services with a concentration in occupational therapy and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.
